Child & Teen Therapy
Child & Teen Therapy in Hatboro, PA & Throughout Pennsylvania via Telehealth
Children and teens do not always have the words to explain what they are feeling.
Instead, emotions often appear through behavior.
A child who is anxious may become clingy, avoid school, complain of stomach aches, or struggle to sleep.
A teen who is overwhelmed may become withdrawn, irritable, perfectionistic, or disconnected.
A child who appears angry may actually be scared, lonely, grieving, confused, or struggling to manage emotions they do not yet understand.
At Arts in Counseling, we help children, teens, and their families better understand what may be happening beneath the surface while building skills, confidence, connection, and emotional wellbeing.

Our Approach
Children communicate differently than adults.
While conversation may be part of therapy, many young people express themselves more comfortably through creativity, movement, play, metaphor, art-making, storytelling, and experiential activities.
At Arts in Counseling, we meet young people where they are developmentally and emotionally.
Our clinicians draw from evidence-based therapeutic approaches while incorporating creative and experiential methods when helpful.
Children and teens are never required to engage in creative activities, but many find that these approaches provide additional ways to express themselves, process experiences, and develop new skills.

Getting Started
Seeking support for your child can feel vulnerable.
You may be wondering whether what your child is experiencing is "normal," whether therapy is necessary, or how to find the right fit.
Our goal is not to label children. Our goal is to understand them.
Together, we can explore your concerns, identify strengths, and determine how best to support your child, teen, and family.
We invite you to schedule a brief consultation to discuss your concerns and determine whether Arts in Counseling may be a good fit for your family.
